of americans who think they have health insurance under obama care may discover on january 1st that they do not. after days of refusing to release the stats on the problems plaguing healthcare.gov, the administration has now announced under pressure from the press that the enrollment out of 1 out of every 4 people in the months of october and november were botched. at li 1 out of every 4. now, since then, they say at least 1 out of every 10 federal applications has had problems since the fix, and they think the number is higher in the states, the state exchanges. a reporter pressed the agency in charge of these exchanges, the federal exchange, for a solution to this mess. people don't know. they think they've got the coverage. they don't have the coverage. the insurer has some botched form. it doesn't even have names so it can't call the person to tell them it didn't work for you. and here was the answer. >> but you're not saying that everyone should call? you're not suggesting that, urging them strongly despite the fact you're talking about a potential 1 in 10 error rate going forward. >> i wo

the announcement on thursday that nelson mandela passed away, secret service and american military personnel were en route to prepare for president obama's arrival here. what would you compare this to in events that you worked on? the first thing for me that came in mind watching the pope in south america earlier this year, wherefore whatever reason the motorcade took a wrong turn and there was a ground swell of people who surrounded to greet him, nevertheless presenting a horrifying moment there to see the pope and his vehicle completely surrounded by hundreds of people. >> yes, in my experience the only events that come to mind, the pope's funeral, funeral of princess diana and mother theresa. the ones i worked on in particular that were most analogous were the funerals of prime minister in israel, which was a very short notice, of course, and tragic event. king hassan in morocco and king husse hussein in jordan. there is an amount of chaos given the complexity of the undertaking and compressed time lines in planning these pieces. in the case of mandela funeral, they have had a number of months

time, americans -- the problem with trying to repeal obama care beforehand was it was theoretical. i knew for, you know, forever that millions of americans were going to lose their health care and there'd be millions more. but it was theory. now americans are feeling the real disaster that the health care law is where we've got millions of americans losing the health care, losing access to the doctors and treatments that are keeping you alive. and that's going to have a negative impact on democrats trying to run for senate. let's face it. anybody that voted for that bill. anybody that mouthed those same words, if you like your health care plan, you can keep it, and there are plenty of senate democrats, house democrats that told that exact same untruth. let's put it that way. >> senator, assuming that the affordable care act does create some difficulties for democrats, particularly those seeking office, what should you -- what should republican party do to kind of advance its own cause between now and 2014 elections? >> well, i heard you earlier, it's -- it's difficult to repeal obama
